ITINERARY
Ojos del Salado 6893 meters above sea level and Aconcagua 6962 meters above sea level – From 20 to 23 days
The “Crown of America” program consists of climbing the highest volcano in the world, Ojos del Salado, and then taking advantage of excellent acclimatization to ascend Aconcagua, saving a lot of time.
These two mountains, the highest in all of America, are located in Argentina.
The program is a bit longer than the conventional Aconcagua expedition, almost reaching a month, but it could be adapted to the different needs of the group, either by shortening or lengthening the duration.
The idea is to enjoy very different mountain scenarios and to use the necessary acclimatization to explore two completely different places: the High Puna of northern Argentina and the central Andes where Aconcagua is located.
The required equipment for all three mountains is identical, and in terms of technical aspects, the mountains are similar.
On the volcano, we will travel by 4×4 and visit the Catamarca Puna, a very wild place, with a large number of animals to see such as vicuñas, guanacos, suris, condors, pumas, etc., and spectacular high desert landscapes and salt flats.
A unique paradise of nature on Earth with impressive colors in its rocks. Not to mention all the history that its peaks carry with the ascents of the Inca culture.
Once these ascents are completed, we will head a bit further south and ascend Aconcagua, with excellent acclimatization, without having to use days for adaptation, which will make the ascent much more enjoyable and also much safer and more effective.
We hope to enjoy this beautiful journey with you, this life experience. We have meticulously designed it to not only experience the landscape and summits but also the human side of Argentina.
